Staking

Lock a digital asset for a stated term

Staking on Meridian locks a supported digital asset for a term. The rate and the length are on the offer before you confirm. Locked assets are not available to trade or withdraw. The rate can change between offers, and the principal is not insured.

When a reward is paid, it appears as an account entry. It is not a separate coin in a private wallet unless the product says so.

Not a CFD

A staking term does not go up and down with a chart tick. It also does not protect you if the product rules say principal is at risk.

What to check on the card

Every staking offer should answer the same questions.

  • Which asset, and how much.
  • The term in days.
  • The rate, and whether it is fixed for that term.
  • What happens if you need the funds early.

How this sits next to trading

Staking and CFDs share a wallet. They should not share the same last dollar.

  • Do not stake margin you might need tomorrow.
  • A crypto CFD is a separate position and can lose money while a stake is locked.
  • Display currency does not change the staked amount.
  • When the term ends, check that the balance has returned before you assume it has.
  1. Step 1

    Open Staking

Sign in and read the current catalogue. Ignore old screenshots.

  2. Step 2

    Match asset and term

Pick an offer whose lock you can actually wait out.

  3. Step 3

    Confirm

The debit shows on the account. The end date is part of that record.

FAQ

Is the rate guaranteed?

The rate you confirm is the rate of that offer. It is not a promise that every future offer will match it, and principal can still be at risk under the product rules.

Can I unstake today?

Only if that offer allows an early exit. Otherwise the assets stay locked until the term ends.

Do I need a chain wallet?

No. This staking term is inside the Meridian account. It is not a delegation on a public network unless the offer explicitly says so.
